Yes! To accept shifts with Toothio, we require that you have previous experience in the dental field. There is no training on-site so directly related experience is needed.
Where can I pick up shifts?
Toothio is currently located in these cities: Phoenix, Las Vegas, Austin, Dallas, Orlando, Portland, Seattle, Los Angeles, Baltimore, Chicago, and New Jersey! Don't see your area? Sign up and we'll keep you in the loop when we expand to your city.
How far will I have to travel for shifts?
All shifts we send your way are within a 30-mile radius of the zip code you provide at sign-up.
I signed up but I don't see any shifts yet. What do I do?
We require all Toothio professionals to complete a 15-minute orientation to get started. Review your onboarding checklist on the Toothio app to learn how to schedule an orientation.
I went through orientation but haven't received any shift invites. Is my profile active?
To get to 'active' status with Toothio, you must: 1. Upload your payment preference through Stripe 2. Upload your certifications and licenses (if applicable) 3. Update your availability. If you have done all of these things - you are good to go! Time to wait for the shifts to roll in.
How do I get paid?
With Toothio, you get paid the same day! We pay you directly through your Stripe account as soon as you clock out. You can reference your payment settings in the Toothio app.
How will I be classified if I work shifts from Toothio? Are taxes taken out of my hourly pay?
If you make over $600 on the Toothio platform, you will receive a 1099 at the end of the year as an Independent Contractor; taxes are not taken out of your hourly pay. Feel free to utilize our partnership with the tax service Keeper to assist with any tax-related matters.
Am I covered if something happens while on-site at a Toothio shift?
We provide occupational accidental insurance for all Toothio professionals who are working a shift. If something was to happen on shift you can report this incident to us and we can get a claim filled for you.
How am I matched with shifts?
We have an algorithm that matches you to practices shifts based on your experience level, certifications, and availability. So instead of being 'selected' for a shift you can choose when and where you would like to work!
Can a practice request me?
Yes, practices can request you through your 'request me' link. This can be found and sent to practices in your Toothio app.
Will I get penalized for rejecting shift invites that Toothio sends me?
No, here at Toothio we want to add more flexibility to your schedule - not constraint! You are welcome to reject any shift that we send your way for any reason without penalty.
What happens if I cancel a shift that I have already confirmed with Toothio?
Once you accept a shift with Toothio, the practice is depending on you to be there on that day. We understand that emergencies and schedule changes occur, but we do require advanced notice if a need to cancel arises. Cancellations within 48 hours of your shift can result in penalty deductions from your Toothio account and no-call, no-shows will result in account deactivation.
How do I clock in and out of shifts?
You clock in through the Toothio Pro app once you arrive at the practice. The app automatically checks your location and will only allow you to clock in once you arrive. You then can independently keep track of your breaks and clock out through the app as well.
What do I need to wear to my shifts?
If you are an RDH or Dental Assistant, Black or Dark Blue Scrubs are preferred. If you are taking Front Office shifts, business casual is the standard.
